| Bio Born in the scary, backwoods of Greencastle, IN., Zack had an imaginative mind from an early age. His life was changed with the introduction of comics. Ever since the early days, he knew what he wanted to be, developing his artistic skills to match his imaginative mind. He took in everything he came across, becoming better than the day before, with his writing skills as well as his artwork. Do so for the day he could achieve his goal of working and creating his own stories for millions to read. Traveling to the distant flat lands of the North Dakota/Minnesota border, he has ventured out on his own to Minnesota State College Moorhead working for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in art with emphases in Drawing /Illustration. Working with the local comic club as the President for the last three years, he’s helped make a number of titles for others while he worked to create his own original ideas. He participates in the annual ValleyCon meeting with a number of freelance professional illustrators who have worked with MARVEL, DC, and IMAGE to name a few. Artist Statement Action, adventure, and emotion, heroism and malevolence. This is what draws me to the world of fantasy and science fiction. As an illustrator I am able to convey those stories without words to show you what you should be feeling. Following in the footsteps of other artists like Jim Lee, Andy Kubert, and Drew Struzan, I try to make every stroke of the pencil and strike of the pen a buildup to that moment of emotion and realism. Whether in far off lands or ‘just around the corner’, a great story lives forever as do the images that go along with them, whether they are in our heads or shown to us. My art allows a glimpse of the wondrous images in my mind, sharing my visions for all to see. |
